Tronsmart T428, the picoPC Android

The Tronsmart T428 one of the many picoPC, slightly larger than a normal USB stick, which are depopulating a lot lately, being able to handle many multimedia features but costing very little. In particular, this model will be sold short at a cost of 75 Euros .

Geekbuying has proposed a short review before placing it on the market, since the manufacturer has finally sent the final version of the device. Let's start looking first of all, because last month they had only seen photos of the printed circuit board and a few prototype, but the final version is very different and comes with a polycarbonate shell in black, rather elegant and simple on the surface there are only of parallel grooves, probably to offer a better grip and add a little 'surface, and the logo Tronsmart.

The proposed configuration is probably the fastest on the market, including the Rockchip RK3188 SoC, consisting of a quad core ARM Cortex A9 1.8 GHz and an ARM Mali 400 GPU at 533 MHz, which is also quad core, supported by 2 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM and 8 GB of flash memory for internal storage. The equipment is then completed by a microSD card reader, a microUSB port, a USB full-size modules Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11n and a HDMI 1.4 connector is provided to connect the Tronsmart directly to a display and can handle both the flows video and audio. The installed operating system is Google Android Jelly Bean in the latest version 4.2.2.

As said, the GUI of the OS, as you can see in the video, it looks smooth and responsive, also the staff of Geekbuying claims to have also tested the Bluetooth connection, which worked perfectly, as seems to have done the function of streaming video wireless WiFi Display, new to Android and which requires the use of a compatible device. Very interesting is also the availability of the app eHomeMediaCenter, which allows you to control the picoPC from your smartphone and do not underestimate the ability of the Tronsmart T428 to run on hardware decoding Full HD video in 1080p at 60 frames per second.

So for the price of the Tronsmart T428 75 euro seems to be a very competitive and complete, able to meet the needs of home users who want to cheaply acquire a convenient media center through which, however, can also browse and check mail, social network and perform other tasks in small quantities.
