Moto X, A smartphone made by Americans for Americans

Motorola has finally launched its new smartphone in the U.S. Moto X, the first model in a series that embodies the renewal of the company but also the first that comes under the auspices of Google, that about a year ago bought Motorola. Moto X does not try to compete with the top-of-range smartphone currently on the market (Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, etc), but focuses on innovations in terms of use and customization (via the configurator Motorcycle Maker fabricating 504 different variants) to justify its price.
In the dimensions of 129.3 x 65.3 x 5.6 to 10.4 mm and weighing 130 g, Moto X is not exactly what we expected. It is not a mini-smartphone 4.3 inch or an ultra-droid 5 inches. Its screen type OLED measuring 4.7 inches (12 cm) with resolution HD (1280 x 720 pixels) and is the result of a careful study by the manufacturer on the tastes and needs of the users. The display will ensure energy savings and therefore a long range, compared to traditional LCD display. The cover of the device is also curved to ensure a good grip.
Under the hood is installed a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, but it is combined with two cores in a chip called the specific Motorola Mobile X8. In addition to the two core Krait from the GPU and 1.7GHz quad-core Adreno 320, this SoC integrates a core dedicated to speech recognition and another to motion detection. This chip will allow Moto X to be constantly waiting for voice commands or gesture with an autonomy of 24 hours. For example, even when the camera is activated by shaking your smartphone to three times, then pressing anywhere on the screen. The latter has a sensor 10.5 megapixels and promises a good image quality even in low light. The front camera can record Full HD 1080p video with its 2-megapixel camera.
Moto X also features 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, connectivity 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and 2200 mAh battery. The operating system is Android 4.2.2 and not Android 4.3. For its beginning, Motorola has the exclusive conditions. Assembled in Fort Worth, Texas, Moto X will be available in North America, at least initially. Only AT&T in the United States, will enable the customization of the terminal and will sell the 16GB and 32GB versions, respectively, $200 and $250 with subscription, or $570 and $630 without a contract.
These prices are not representative of the retail price of Moto X that will end up in the Google Play Store in a version of Moto X Google Edition, next to Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
