Building on the success of the first version, the company has decided to update its lineup by launching a new model, called MEEP! X2, more powerful and more equipped than its predecessor. The tablet is already available in the U.S. at Toys R U.S. for $150, the same price as MEEP launch of the first generation (which is now on sale for $100 or less).
MEEP! X2 is equipped with a display of 7 inches, processor dual-core 1.2GHz processor, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4GB of internal memory expandable with a microSD card slot, two cameras and an HDMI port for connecting to an external display.
The tablet is based on Google Android 4.2 Jelly Bean but has a custom user interface and dedicated to children, with parental control and monitoring software, as well as MEEP Store for downloading books, games, videos and other content suitable for their age.
