Safaricom Yolo with Atom Z2420

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas earlier this month Intel showed a reference design smartphone entry level aimed at emerging markets and with Lexington platform, which offered interesting features of course if placed in the background of the target market. Now that prototype has become a finished product that is going to debut on the African market. Were to announce their Intel and Safaricom together through a joint press release.
Yolo is the name of the device, takes roughly all the main features of Lexington, from the body, at the same time be robust, almost rugged but also economic to achieve, to keep costs low end.The lines are simple and clean, with strongly rounded corners and sides, which give the device a very ergonomic, and of course, the case is polycarbonate color dark gray . The technical features, however, are quite interesting, always relating them to the target market, but unfortunately Intel and Safaricom have not yet disclosed all the details of the hardware platform.
We do know that the smartphone is equipped with a display with a diagonal of 3.5 inches with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels and a System on a Chip Intel Atom Z2420 Medfield , a single core with second-level cache of 512 KB and clock rate from 1.2 GHz, with HyperThreading technology, the ability to encode / decode video via hardware up to 1080p and support two cameras with ability to shoot bursts of seven photographs in less than a second by a sensor of 5 megapixels.Unfortunately at the moment there are guidance on the amount of RAM and a dedicated space for storage. Yolo has a slot for microSD memory, a 5 megapixel rear camera that meets the characteristics described above and a slot-type dual SIM connectivity with HSPA + modem Intel XMM 6265 for global roaming capabilities. The operating system is Google Android, but there are no indications on the version, though that may be most likely at least Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich .
The cost of Safaricom Kenyan Shilling Yolo is of 11,000, roughly equivalent to $ 126 U.S. at the time but was not communicated a clear date for the distribution.
